Make beautiful: day 10.


Theme:  time.

One of my favorite things to cook is the South Louisiana classic, red beans and rice.  Since I don't use canned beans it takes a long time.  Depending on the weather, at least 2.5 hours.   Today, 3 was the magic number.

My absolute favorite beans and rice dish is made with black beans.  Those take nearly twice as long at 4-5 hours!  Thankfully, whether red or black, it is always worth the wait.
